What idea is guiding this work?
For this chart, I want to display the different types of optical illusions. Inspired by the illusion called "cafe walls," I decided to create a cafe setting where the laws of reality are being broken. I am focusing on composition for this piece, making sure that the piece is cohesive while also displaying all of the illusions.
How are you practicing, experimenting or revising aspects of this work? (you can pick one)
I researched the different types of optical illusions and practiced drawing different impossible shapes. I experimented with many different compositions before coming to my final.
How can your choices of materials or processes relate to your idea?
I plan to do use ink/sharpies for this project, without color. With ink, I can achieve the sharp, precise lines required to make the optical illusions believable. Additionally, I can use a grayscale which will help prevent my piece from becoming overwhelming.
