  • your intention

Part of perfectionism is all-or-nothing behavior. The "nothing" is shown through procrastination, and the "all" is best represented through my obsession with specific foods and tendency to overeat. One of my favorite foods is fried rice, and when I eat fried rice I eat around 3-4 bowls per meal. Inspired by Wayne Thiebaud, specifically his painting Boston Cremes, I painted three rows of bowls of fried rice, each row representing one meal of the day. However, instead of only putting 3 bowls, each bowl extends indefinitely to represent how for each meal I do not put limits on my serving sizes---AKA the "all."

  • the wrap up: what are your insights, reflections and thoughts/feelings about finishing your work?

I think I was able to capture the parts of perfectionism that most affect me with my pieces, I don't feel like I want to expand the portfolio more. I wish that I had finalized my SI earlier, but I think being in this class in general really exposed my perfectionist tendencies.
