  1. Write out up to three sentences explaining your SI (start with a question)

How is my obsession with means of organization a manifestation of perfectionism? What is comfortable about charts and diagrams? How can perfectionism be overcome?

  2. In descending order (starting with #8) upload photos of all of your SIs. In a caption: title, media, size and a BRIEF description of how it fits in your SI.

    #3

#2 The Hydrologic Cycle, 12x14in, Aluminum cans, aluminum foil, acrylic paint

As a kid, I loved looking at the water cycle charts on the science class walls---they are calming and structured. I still wanted to keep this aspect and also try to organize the information in typical water cycle charts in a non-traditional matter by using relief-sculpture.

#1 The Bathypelagic, 18x24in, Oil Pastel

I have a fish chart in my room that I love looking at. The organization, paired with the wide array of colors is calming. I wanted to push the aspects that I like about my fish chart (wide amount of colors and detailed drawings), with fish that aren't so calming---breaking out of comfort.

  3. List four potential ideas for final SI 9-12

    1. maximalism/minimalism: I like minimalism cause it's controlled but my art often takes on maximalist & crazy subjects

    2. all or nothing behavior

    3. caring too much

    4. pattern recognition & memorization
