[Plaster Cast of Venus de Milo], Charles Nègre, waxed paper negative, 1849 Decide how you will repurpose it
Inspired by affirmation posts on Instagram, I want to create images of "it's not that deep" anti-affirmations. I have a tendency to overthink things, which is because of perfectionism. Thinking too much makes me almost fearful of starting work, so I start procrastinating it. Saying "it's not that deep" to myself is how I snap out of overthinking. Although it achieves the same purpose of an affirmation of calming and motivating someone, saying "it's not that deep" is a lot harsher and straightforward than the affirmations on Instagram.
I want to use this image in particular for one of the backgrounds because it is an inverse of the typical, oversaturated photos used in affirmations. The Venus de Milo statue is a common motif in the Vaporwave aesthetic that I enjoy, which critiques consumerism and escapism. Both of these qualities are part of the instagram affirmations I see everyday.
There are usually 10 images per post so I will make 10 of these "affirmations"
